How to use this book

Welcome to Sacred Stillness — a 90-day Christian meditation journal created for those who long to deepen their daily practice of Scripture, prayer, and quiet reflection. This journal is not a devotional written for you to read — it is a space for you to write, to listen, and to encounter God in the unhurried stillness of your own heart.

Each daily devotional page opens with a Scripture box. Write out the verse or passage you are meditating on — not to fill a space, but as an act of faith. Something shifts when we slow down enough to write Scripture by hand: the mind quiets, the eyes take in each word, the heart begins to receive what the intellect has only skimmed. Write the reference at the bottom of the box so you can return to it.

Below the Scripture box, you will find three Guided Reflection Questions. These are not questions designed to test your theological knowledge — they are invitations to honest, personal, soul-level conversation with God. There are no wrong answers. The only unhelpful response is a polished, safe one. Let yourself write what is actually true for you: the doubt, the gratitude, the confusion, the surrender. God already knows, and He is not afraid of any of it.

The Prayer space that follows is exactly that — your space. Write your prayers as you would speak them aloud. Some days this will feel like flowing conversation. Other days it will feel halting and dry. Both are real, and both belong here. The dryness of prayer is itself a prayer: 'Lord, I am here, even when I cannot feel You.' Come to this space honestly, and leave it having brought what is truly on your heart.

At the very bottom of each daily page, you will find a single Gratitude line. This is intentionally small. Gratitude is not always grand — often the most transforming practice is naming one small, specific, ordinary gift from the hand of God. Train your eyes to see it.

At the close of each week, you will find a Weekly Faith Review page. These five questions are designed to help you step back and see the patterns of God's work in your life over the preceding days — what He was teaching, where He was faithful, what you want to carry forward. Do not rush through the weekly review. It is one of the most valuable pages in this journal.

There are also Notes pages scattered throughout — open, lined space for anything that doesn't fit neatly into the daily format. Use them for extended prayers, thoughts still forming, Scripture to memorize, things to return to, or silence made visible on a page.

You do not need to complete every line to use this journal faithfully. Come to it as you are. Return to it when you drift away. What matters most is not how perfectly you fill these pages, but the direction of your heart: turned toward God, seeking His face, willing to be still.

'Be still, and know that I am God.' — Psalm 46:10
